- First selection round to be held in Mumbai on 27 January
Petronas TVS One Make Racing Championship is back for the 2024 season and the details for its women and rookie categories have been announced. The training and selection rounds will take place between January and May 2024 across four cities in India. Registrations for both categories are already open.
Notably, this year will mark the eighth edition of the women’s category and the third of the rookie class. All rounds will include full-day training sessions conducted by TVS Racing’s national champions. These sessions are not only aimed at honing the skills of the riders but also helping them get familiarised with the motorcycles. The participants will be competing astride the TVS Apache RTR 200 and RR 200 motorcycles.
The participants in both categories must meet certain eligibility criteria. Women need to be above 18 years of age and have a valid two-wheeler driving license. Those between the ages of 15-18 years are required to have Level 1 FMSCI-certified training received from any racing school. Meanwhile, the rookie category will only comprise riders between 15-18 years of age (born in or after January 2009) with Level 1 certification from a training academy approved by FMSCI.
The selection and training rounds will start from Mumbai on 27 January followed by New Delhi on 4 February, Kolkata on 11 February, and Chennai on 11 and 12 May, 2024.
