- Celebrates 125th Anniversary of the brand
- Limited to just 125 units each
- No word about India launch date
Norton Motorcycles has announced a new lineup of anniversary edition models to celebrate 125 years of producing their own motorcycles. Notably, the British brand is now owned by TVS Motor Company.
Now there are six new colours available with the Norton V4SV, V4CR and Norton Commando 961. These colours take inspiration from the brand’s past models- the Energette, Manx, Formula 750 Works Racer and NRS588. While the colours pay homage to iconic motorcycles, the 125th Anniversary models are even more exclusive with only 125 units each are to be produced.
The Commando 961 is offered in Energette colour which replicates Norton’s first motorcycle that was made in 1902. So it gets a yellow paint, brown leather seat, chromed-out components and engine. It is also the only model to be offered in the Manx colour scheme and features black bodywork and frame with a silver finished fuel tank. Even the Ohlins suspension are blacked-out to keep with the theme. That said, the Norton Commando 961 is also offered in the Transatlantic paint schem that is inspired from the Formula 750 Works Racer’s victorious 1972 racing season and sports a white, red and blue colour scheme all across its bodywork.
Lastly, there is the ‘588’ paint that is offered on the 961, V4SV and the V4CR. It is based on the paint from the race bikes of the 80s and early 90s. Hence, it features blacked-out engine, forks, suspension and a carbon fibre chainguard. You also get a carbon fibre flyscreen and gold OZ rims for good measure.
While these are interesting-looking iterations and colours which will be available internationally soon, there is no word if the motorcycles will make their way to India anytime soon.
