- Aiming to grow in Singapore and Indonesia as of now

- TVS helping Ion in the development of its first e-scooter

TVS Motor Company has announced that it has partnered with a new Singapore-based electric two-wheeler brand, Ion Mobility. This partnership is aimed at providing the latter with the required ecosystem to grow in the electric two-wheeler markets of Singapore and Indonesia. Meanwhile, this tie-up will help TVS expand its global presence and build an attractive product portfolio in the EV space.

In the initial phase of the partnership, TVS will help Ion make its upcoming electric scooter, Mobius M1-S, ready for the production stage. Moreover, the design and development of Ion’s other future products will be led by TVS. Interestingly, the Ion M1-S electric scooter’s details are available on the brand’s website. It runs on a 4kWh battery pack which can be upgraded and is coupled with a 12.5kW electric motor that produces 43Nm of peak torque. Amongst all the features it gets, the most notable element is the large seven-inch colour TFT display.

Now, it’s not clear if TVS will come up with an electric scooter similar to the M1-S for the Indian market. However, it will most likely use the development learnings from this partnership and create a sporty electric scooter for India. As of now, in the electric two-wheeler space, TVS just has the iQube with ex-showroom (Delhi) prices starting from Rs 93,056.
