- Domestic two-wheeler sales slumped by 26.7 per cent
- Two-wheeler exports rose by 23 per cent
TVS Motor Company has recorded a drop of 15.4 per cent in its overall sales in the month of February 2020. The manufacturer sold 2,53,261 units in the last month, which was down from 2,99,353 units in February 2019. This includes domestic sales and exports of two-wheelers along with three-wheeler sales.
Considering overall two-wheelers sales (domestic and exports), the Hosur-based bike maker witnessed a decline of around 17.4 per cent as the numbers dropped from 2,85,611 units in February last year to 2,35,891 units last month. This includes domestic two-wheeler sales of 1,69,684 units which accounts for a slump of 26.7 per cent as compared to the corresponding month last year.
On the flipside, two-wheeler exports saw a year-on-year rise of 23 per cent, up from 54,029 units last year to 66,209 units this year. Adding this with three-wheeler exports, the total hike in exports stood at 25 per cent.
Talking about exports, TVS has been focusing on strengthening its footprint in the international markets and currently has presence in 60 countries across the globe.
