- TVS sells 2,38,092 units of two-wheelers last month
- Two-wheeler sales increase by 25 per cent
TVS Motor Company sold 2,51,886 units of two-wheelers and three-wheelers combined in June this year, as against 1,98,387 units in the corresponding month last year. This was an increment of 27 per cent. Similar to most of the bike makers, TVS too has been witnessing lower sales due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, it has reduced dealer stocks and will maintain enough inventories to meet customer demand.
Talking about two-wheelers sales only, domestic and exports combined, the Hosur-based manufacturer dispatched 2,38,092 units last month including 1,46,874 units of motorcycles and 54,595 units of scooters. This was a hike of 25 per cent as the total two-wheeler sales stood at 1,91,076 in June 2020. Furthermore, even two-wheeler exports registered a substantial improvement, catapulting from 46,259 units last year to 92,679 units in June this year.
In the most recent development, TVS launched its electric scooter, the iQube, in Pune at an on-road price of Rs 1.11 lakh. With an aim to boost sales further, the company has also been offering several discounts and offers on its motorcycles and scooters across India.
