- TVS’ total sales down by around five per cent

TVS Motor Company has registered a marginal drop in its year-on-year sales in the month of February, 2022. The company sold a total of 2,81,714 units last month, as against 2,97,747 units in the corresponding month last year which is a downfall of around five per cent.
The aforementioned sales figure is for two-wheelers and three-wheelers combined. As for two-wheelers in particular, the dispatches stood at 2,67,625 units last month which was down from 2,84,581 units in February 2021. Further bifurcating the sales, TVS scooters witnessed dampened demand as sales went down from 95,525 units to 86,616 units. On the flip side, motorcycle sales went up by five per cent from 1,37,259 units in February last year to 1,43,523 units in the same month this year. Furthermore, TVS’ two-wheeler exports too registered an uptake of six per cent last month.
As announced by the brand last month, it crossed the one million export milestone in FY2021-22 for the first time. The highest-exported products included the Apache series, HLX series, Raider 125, and the Neo series. The company attributes this achievement majorly to the global rise in motorcycle sales in the last few months.
