- Ronin brand name trademarked
- Could be used for production-spec Zeppelin cruiser
- Launch details unavailable
TVS Motor Company’s next product might be called the Ronin as the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer has trademarked the name.
The finer details about the motorcycle that will get the Ronin tag are scarce. The strongest candidate for that name is the Zeppelin cruiser that was displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo. The cruiser motorcycle was showcased in concept form at the biennial motoring event in the National Capital Region.
Our sources had indicated in that past that the production-spec Zeppelin is almost ready for production. The cruiser will be pitched as a premium product. Thus, it should come equipped with features such as full-LED lighting, upside-down forks, rear mono-shock, disc brakes on both wheels and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with assist motor. The company will most likely offer a fully-digital instrument cluster on the cruiser motorcycle. Considering the features on its current line-up, TVS may add Bluetooth connectivity to the vehicle.
Engine specifications will include a 212cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that will be based on the Apache 200’s 197cc engine.
The production-spec Zeppelin will most likely be positioned above the Apache 200. Thus, expect the motorcycle to arrive close to the Rs 1.15 lakh-1.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) price range.
