- TVS sells 52,08 units in India in May 2021
- Exports were much higher at 1,02,332 units
TVS Motor Company sold 1,54,416 units of two-wheelers in May 2021 as opposed to 56,218 units in the corresponding month last year. Although the overall figure is substantially higher as compared to last year, the company says domestic sales took a major hit due to the ongoing lockdown.
While the company exported 1,02,332 units, it dispatched only 52,084 units in India. When the overall operations were disrupted in May last year, TVS had exported 15,151 units only, whereas domestic sales had stood at 41,067 units. Interestingly, TVS says despite the lockdown, retails were ahead of dispatches last month. The company has reduced dealer stocks to support its dealer partners and will maintain enough stock to cater to customer demands as it increases in the coming days.
On a different note, TVS recently expanded its retail network in Iraq by inaugurating a new showroom in its capital city, Baghdad. This outlet will manage sales, services, and retail of spare parts for TVS two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Furthermore, TVS also launched two new products - TVS StaR HLX 150 and the TVS King Deluxe Plus three-wheeler in Iraq.
