- Hero MotoCorp sold 3,94,460 two-wheelers in February 2023
- Honda registered 2,47,175 units of sales
- TVS Motor Company sold 2,67,026 two-wheelers
As per the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations’ (FADA) data, the two-wheeler sales for the month of February 2023 stood at 12,67,233 as against the 11,04,309 units sold during the corresponding month last year.
Hero MotoCorp said in its press statement that it sold 3,94,460 units in February 2023 compared to 3,58,254 units in the corresponding month last year. The numbers were 10 per cent better than the sales performance of February 2022. The company said in the press statement that the volumes in February indicate the continuously improving consumer sentiment. The company expects the positive trend to continue in the coming months, based on favourable economic indicators.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s total sales stood at 2,47,175 units in February 2023 as against 3,58,254 units in February last year. This year’s total sales included 2,27,064 units that were sold in the domestic market and 20,111 units that were exported.
Bajaj Auto registered an 11 per cent decline in year-on-year sales for February 2023. On the other hand, domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 25 per cent, rising from 96,523 units in February 2022 to 1,20,335 units in February 2023. The exports, however, slipped by 37 per cent for the same period. Bajaj Auto’s exports declined from 1,82,814 units in February 2022 to 1,15,021 units in the last month.
Meanwhile, Chennai-based Royal Enfield saw a rise in year-on-year sales. The company sold a total of 71,544 motorcycles in February 2023 as against 59,160 units in the corresponding month last year. Its domestic sales increased from 64,436 units to 52,135 units, while exports grew from 7,025 units to 7,108 units in February 2023.
TVS Motor Company’s total two-wheelers business registered sales of 2,67,026 units in the month of February 2023 as against 2,67,625 units in the month of February 2022. Its domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 28 per cent with sales increasing from 1,73,198 units in February 2022 to 2,21,402 units in February 2023. The company also announced that the TVS Apache range had achieved the five million global sales milestone.
