Ultraviolette F77: Variants Explained

Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive debuted its first EV, the F77 in India yesterday. The bike is offered in three different variants; all trims differ in output figures and more. Let’s have a close look at each variant of the Ultraviolette F77. 

F77

The F77’s most affordable variant is priced at Rs 3,80,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). It’s powered by a 27kW (peak power) motor mated to a 7.1kWh battery. The F77 can hit a top speed of 140kmph and gets a maximum IDC (Ideal Driving Conditions) range of 206km. That said, its charging time is one hour for every 35km using a regular connection while the booster charger offers 75km in the same time. 

The F77’s torque is rated at 85Nm and its 0-60kmp acceleration is timed at 3.4 seconds. It tips the scale at 197kg. Ultraviolette offers USD front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock for the base model. The F77 comes with a 30,000km or three-year warranty in its base trim. 

F77 Recon

The F77 Recon is a slightly higher-spec model than the base trim. It costs Rs 4,55,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) and gets a larger 10.3kWh battery mated to a more powerful 29kW motor that offers 95Nm torque. Thereby, it gets a higher top speed of 147kmph and torque 95Nm torque. The Recon model even gets a longer range of 307km. The charging time for F77 Recon is the same as the base model using both, regular and fast charging. 

It rides on preload adjustable front and rear suspension. Ultraviolette provides a five-year or 50,000km warranty for the F77 Recon. 

F77 Special

Last but not least, the F77 is also offered in a Special Edition. It’s limited to just 77 units. Powering the Special Edition is a 30.2kW motor mated to a 10.3kWh battery. It gets 100Nm of torque on offer and accelerates from 0 to 60kmph in 2.9 seconds. The F77 Special Edition’s range is 307km and its top speed is 152kmph. Just like the base and Recon model, the Special trim also gets the same charging time. 

It too rides on preload adjustable front and rear shocks and comes with an 8-year or 1,00,000 km warranty. The F77 Special weighs 207kg. 

All three trims vary in output figures and prices but boast a similar list of rider aids. They get LED illumination, a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone compatibility, navigation, adaptive dash lighting, vehicle locator, geofencing, BMS with five-level safety, shock and crash alert, emergency contact, ride history and ride analytics, a nine-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and auto headlight on and off. 

Ultraviolette offers the base and Recon model in Supersonic Silver, Stealth Grey, and Plasma Red colours while the Special Edition gets Meteor Grey/Afterburner Yellow paint scheme.
