- DSR II, Hypersport spied in India
- UM could launch the ADV variant in India
- Will rival Hero XPulse
UM India has been keen on making its presence felt in the famous adventure bike segment. It looks like the company might soon introduce an ADV here.
According to a report, the DSR II and the Hypersport bikes were spied somewhere in India. While the former is an adventure bike, the latter is a supermoto. The leaked picture doesn’t confirm if it was clicked in India, but there’s a chance of these bikes being present here for customer clinic or to show dealers.
Both the bikes are available with three engine options. But as UM is positioning itself as a premium brand, expect only the 223cc single-cylinder variant to make its way to the country. While the DSR II runs on spoked-wheels, the Hypersport runs on alloy-wheels.
If launched anytime soon, the UM DSR II will compete with the Hero XPulse which is expected to hit the Indian market by the end of this year. The Hypersport, on the other hand, might find less takers, making it financially unviable for the company. So it’s highly likely that the Hypersport will not make its way to the Indian market anytime soon.
