Mr. Juan Villegas, the Global Director of Business Development, UM International LLC, speaking to an automotive website, mentioned that the motorcycle company will sell 3,000 units a month very quickly. He also let it be known that they would be exporting to countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh soon.
Mr. Villegas revealed that by the end of next year they should be expecting a decent production number. He also added that they have estimated that the plant has enough capacity to cover their first three phases of operation before requiring an expansion of the production capabilities. The segment in the Indian market is comparatively small and so one could expect some 6,00,000 units a year.
Coming to the exports, the company is aiming for 10-15 per cent of the production to be sent for the export market. Asia and Latin America will also be part of the future export market.
The manufacturer will launch three versions of the Renegade series – namely the Commando, Sport and Duty. They will likely be priced around the Rs 1.5 lakh figure and will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
