UM Motorcycles is planning to update its Renegade range with a new cruiser called the Regal. The bike has been spotted testing and is likely to arrive in India by March 2019.
The bike sports a design language inspired by traditional American cruisers and is adorned with majority of chrome components but also gets blacked-out parts that lend it a modern custom motorcycle look. It offers a laid back riding position with sweptback handlebars and slightly forward-set foot pegs.
The Renegade Regal however has an uncanny resemblance to the Benelli Patagonian Eagle that was spotted testing in the country a while back. And we expect the bike to be powered by a similar 251cc, oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine as the latter which produces 18bhp and 17Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suspension duties on the Renegade Regal are taken care of by telescopic front forks and twin-shocks at the rear. Meanwhile, the bike uses a 260mm front disc and rear drum and is highly likely to get a single-channel ABS as standard.
We expect it to be priced around Rs 1.3- 1.4 lakhs and compete against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 here.
