- Gets dual channel ABS system
- Will get a rear disc brake
- Commando for Rs. 1.69 lakhs, Classic for Rs 1.79 lakhs
UM is upgrading its range, and as part of the upgrades, the Renegade range will get a brake upgrade to meet the upcoming norms that make ABS mandatory, come April 2019. The Renegade Classic 300 and Renegade Commando 300 will get a rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS to comply with the regulations.
Nothing else changes about these two products – they will still run the liquid-cooled single cylinder 280cc engine that generates 25bhp and 23Nm, and the brakes remain a 280mm front disc with a two-piston calliper, and a 240mm rear disc will be added to it. The engine gets it fueling via carburettion but the gearbox is a six-speed one. Tyre sizes stand at 110/90-18 front and 140/90-15 rear. The fuel tank holds 14 litres, and dry weight is 172kg.
The UM Renegade Commando will be priced around Rs 1.7 lakhs, and the UM Renegade Classic at Rs 1.8 lakhs, both ex-showroom, Delhi. UM’s Renegade range competes directly with Royal Enfield’s Classic 350 range, and the Thunderbird 350 as well.
