- Duty, Duty Ace launched postponed to February 2019
- Will be launched with ABS
UM has postponed the launch of the Renegade Duty and the Duty Ace by a few months. These bikes were expected to hit the market in July, but will now come only in February 2019.
These entry-level UM bikes were launched at 2018 Auto Expo with much fanfare. But the company has now decided to introduce these bikes in the market in February 2019 with ABS. The launched models didn’t sport ABS and a manufacturer can’t sell any bikes without ABS post April 1st, 2018.
The UM Renegade Duty gets its power from a 223cc single cylinder motor. This carburetted engine churns out around 17bhp of maximum power at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 17Nm at 5000 rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The overall design of these bikes resembles the Harley-Davidson Iron 883, but are fitted with much smaller components and body panels.
These bikes were expected to bring numbers for UM. But it looks like the company needs to wait for a few more months before it starts putting in some good sales numbers.
