UM Motorcycle is likely to launch an entry-level adventure tourer, the DSR Adventure 200 ABS which has been spotted in India. Expected to be priced around Rs 1.40 lakhs (ex-showroom), it is likely to be launched by the first quarter of 2019.
In terms of design, the motorcycle is a souped-up version of the internationally sold DSR Adventure 125. It features a V-shaped headlamp, beak-like front fairing, easy-to-reach handlebar, alloy wheels shod with dual purpose tyres. It looks to have a relaxed stance for touring purpose and will also come with optional touring accessories such as a top case and panniers.
The UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS is powered by a 196cc, single cylinder, air-cooled, carburetor motor that churns out 16bhp at 8500rpm and 16Nm of torque at 6500rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle incorporates 17-inch front and rear wheel with disc brakes on both the ends along with single-channel ABS.
Looking at its purpose, it will go up against the upcoming Hero XPulse which is likely to carry a much lower price tag of around Rs 1 lakh. In terms of pricing, the closest rival will be the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Mahindra Mojo UT300.
