Just started we told you about the upcoming 230cc bike from UM that will debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. We have also found out that the company is planning to launch the carbureted versions of the Renegade Sport S and the Commando cruiser bikes.
The American manufacturer is taking this step to garner more sales as carbureted models are cheaper than the fuel-injected models. Currently, UM’s entire line-up is fuel-injected. After some market research and feedback from customers, the company things there’s space to introduce more affordable variants that will attract more buyers.
The carbureted bikes are expected to be Rs 7000 to Rs 10000 cheaper than the fuel-injected bikes. The bikes will hit showrooms soon after the 2018 Auto Expo and will be on sale till the BS-VI emission norm kicks in. Post that, UM will only sell fuel-injected BS-VI compliant models in India.
