- Gets a long single-piece seat
- Will feature a front disc and rear drum brake
- Could be launched in the next few months
The Bajaj CNG bike has made yet another appearance and it seems the brand is pushing the testing pace. The newly spotted test mule appears to be inching closer to production. The spy shots reveal the side profile of what could be the first-ever mass-produced CNG motorcycle.
The design of the Bajaj CNG bike is oriented thoroughly on the commuter side. The proportions and overall dimensions appear to be like those of a 100-125cc bike. The test mule is equipped with a large single-piece seat extending near the tank area. It also has a single-piece grab-rail, a simple tail housing the number plate and the turn indicators, and a tyre hugger. Then, there is a stubby-looking exhaust with a chrome heat shield too.
The engine details of the Bajaj CNG bike are pretty scarce but the Chakan-based bikemaker is targeting the 100-160cc commuter market. The bike’s hardware comprises telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Then, the braking hardware seen here includes a single front disc and a rear drum setup mounted on probable 17-inch wheels.
In one of the previously seen test bikes, it appeared that the Bajaj CNG bike could get an LED headlight too. We could also see handle guards, which are likely to be made of plastic. Moreover, the CNG tank is likely to sit below the tank and the seat area.
The debut of the Bajaj CNG bike could be slated around June this year. Now, the brand already caters to the entry-level commuter segment with multiple 110cc and 125cc petrol bikes. But with the entry of a CNG-based two-wheeler, it will be able to cater to a larger audience, especially those living in cities with a massive presence of CNG pumps.
