- Spotted testing for the second time
- Will target the current 100-160cc segment
- Likely to be launched in June
The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle has been spotted testing. This test mule looks similar to the one we saw a few months ago and its launch is scheduled for June this year.
Going by its design, this will be a purebred commuter offering with a simple and minimal build. The bodywork in this image is camouflaged but we think the CNG tank will be located below the tank and the seat. Moreover, this product will cater to the cities with heavy dependence and availability of CNG. Overall, the essence of the upcoming Bajaj CNG bike will be affordability and usability.
As of now, its engine details aren’t known. But, going by this spy shot, the bike will get conventional telescopic front forks and probably a monoshock. The braking hardware could comprise a front disc and a rear drum setup. These appear to be mounted on 17-inch wheels shoed with road-biased tyres. Then, there is a single-piece seat which offers better utility of the space than a split unit. It also gets a grab rail, bulb turn indicators, handguards, and engine crash guards.
The production bike will debut in just a few months from now. Moreover, this will be the brand’s first product to use CNG. In a related development, Bajaj also trademarked three new names. So maybe, one of them could be used for the CNG motorcycle. As of now, the Bajaj Platina and CT ranges have been bringing sales from the rural market for the brand.
