- Features Triumph Street Scrambler-inspired design
- Rides on alloy wheels
- Powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine
We recently saw the first images of the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycles that were seen somewhere in Europe. The spy images captured two test mules – a roadster and a scrambler. Now, another set of spy images shows the scrambler-style motorcycle that will be co-developed and manufactured by Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles.
This upcoming model from Triumph Motorcycles and Bajaj Auto draws styling cues from the British marquee’s existing product, the Street Scrambler. This upcoming model from the Anglo-Indian partnership features a tall-set front fender, a round headlight, a short flyscreen, knuckle guards, a curvy fuel tank with rubber pads on the sides, split-style seats, and a dual-barrel exhaust.
This scrambler-style model will ride on alloy wheels that would feature a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear diameter. These would be wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. We could also see full-LED lighting and a KTM 390-style TFT display on the test mule.
The details about the mechanical specifications are scarce, although this model is expected to compete in the 300-350cc segment. We could see a liquid-cooled setup in the previous spy images, and thus we expect to see healthy power output numbers from this engine. The hardware, as seen in previous spy photographs, include upside-down telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension tasks. The braking tasks are handled by single discs on both wheels.
The details about the electronic rider aids are limited, although we expect to see a multi-level ABS tech. The Made-in-India KTM 390 models, which are manufactured by Bajaj Auto, pack several premium rider aids. We could see a similar setup on the Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle.
The Indian launch details are unavailable yet, however, we expect to see the Bajaj-Triumph models in our market by early 2023. We can expect these models to arrive in the Rs 3.5 lakh- Rs 4 lakh price range.
