- Upcoming BMW scrambler and adventure bike spied
- Expected to be powered by a 1,170cc boxer engine
- Will rival the Triumph Scrambler 1200
Recently, BMW Motorrad had announced a few cosmetic as well as mechanical revisions to the R nine T Scrambler and the Urban GS in the international market. Now the German automaker has been spotted testing two motorcycles (scrambler and adventure). These bikes are reported to be variants of the upcoming R nine T Scrambler. While there's no official announcement, we expect these motorcycles to be launched in 2022.
As per the spy shots, the motorcycles can be seen equipped with off-road tyres, spoke wheels, single-piece seats, circular headlamps and disc brakes on both ends. The adventure model can be seen having inverted forks at the front, raised ground clearance and raised exhaust. Meanwhile, the scrambler model gets a circular analogue meter. These bikes are also reported to be equipped with 21-inch wheels that are wrapped in Metzeler Karoo three tyres.
These bikes are expected to be powered by the same 1,170cc twin cylinder air/oil-cooled Euro5 boxer engine that churns out 107.5bhp at 7,250rpm and 115.3Nm at 6,000rpm. All this power and torque will be transmitted to its wheels via a six-speed gearbox. Upon their arrival, these motorcycles will compete against the likes of the Triumph Scrambler 1200.
