- To be powered by the same motor as the Himalayan 450
- Seems to be equipped with a larger front disc than the current model
- Test mule spotted in India
Royal Enfield has been working on its upcoming 450cc platform and the Himalayan 450 was spotted testing recently. Now, the Scram450 test mule too has been spotted in the daylight revealing some essential details.
It appears similar to the current Scram and features similar bodywork. The test mule was equipped with a round headlight and retro-style bodywork. It’ll be powered by the same motor as the Himalayan – 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor with the output rated at 40bhp and 45Nm. However, the tune could be different.
While the Himalayan 450 gets the USD forks, the Scram 450 test mule was equipped with conventional gaitered forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends. That said, the test mule features 17-inch alloys wrapped in road-biased tyres. Elsewhere, you can also spot the LED lights at the rear end and the single-piece seat.
Royal Enfield had announced that it’ll launch four new bikes every year and it's already halfway to 2022 with the Scram 411 and the Hunter 350. However, with the Super Meteor, Bullet 350, Himalayan 450 and now the Scram 450 test mule looking ready for production, it’s unclear which two models will make their debut next.
