- To be limited to 1000 units
- Vespa to unveil 12 more such special edition models
- Inspired by the lunar horoscope animal of the year
Italian two-wheeler maker, Vespa, has revealed the new special edition model of its iconic 946 scooter model for the European markets. This is the first of 12 such upcoming Vespa offerings to be launched over the next 12 consecutive years and each one of them will be inspired by the lunar horoscope animal of that year.
While the Vespa 946 looks timeless and stunning in practically any type of paint scheme, this one looks particularly funky and charming. All the curvy and slick body panels are dipped in classic Vespa green shade and adorned with a doodle of a rabbit face on the front apron and side panel. Moreover, there’s a streak of green on the seat and the wheel rims. Notably, the seat is double upholstered and gets burnished stitching which, along with the handgrips, is hand-sewed.
Powering this Vespa 946 is a 125cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that produces 11.39bhp at 8750rpm and peak torque of 9.6Nm at 7750rpm. The Italian manufacturer has equipped the scooter with a decent amount of modern features like an anti-lock braking system (ABS), anti-slip regulator (ASR) traction control and LED lights. The braking department is handled by 220mm disc at the front and rear.
The Vespa 946 Bunny special edition will be limited to 1000 units with each sporting its respective serial number. It’s unlikely to come to the Indian shores unless Vespa decides to surprise us with something exotic.
