- Features thorough old-school styling
- Is the most powerful model from the Vespa line
- Gets optional Bluetooth connectivity features too
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Vespa has unveiled its most potent scooter offering for 2022. Unveiled at the EICMA, the new Vespa GTV takes inspiration from the first model which was introduced back in 2006. That said, with the slew of updates employed on it, the GTV is now one of the sportiest offerings from Vespa.
It features a proper retro design with curvy panels, a bulky rear side profile, scooped single-piece seat (with a removable cowl), and a fender-mounted round headlight. The old-school theme is complemented by the two-tone paint scheme of beige and orange.
At the heart of Vespa GTV is a 278cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine belting out 23.9bhp. While that’s a decent power figure, Vespa has offered traction control for added safety. On the feature front, the GTV benefits from a USB charging port, keyless operation, and an LCD with optional Bluetooth connectivity. The Vespa GTV rides on a single front and rear shock. Its braking hardware consists of a front and rear disc with ABS. The setup is mounted on five-spoke alloy wheels.
The new Vespa scooter has been displayed at the EICMA 2022 and could go on sale very soon. That said, considering the Indian market and its affinity with affordable products, Vespa is unlikely to launch the GTV here anytime soon. But if you are looking for other retro styled scooters, the Keeway Sixties 300i is an option and that too in the same 300cc segment.
