Chinese tech manufacturer Xiaomi, majorly known in India for its smartphones has unveiled an electric scooter called the Himo T1 in China. It is priced at 2,999 Yuan i.e approximately Rs 31,000.
The Himo T1's design is similar to that of a step-through scooter although with a futuristic twist. The electric scooter gets a full-LED headlamp with 18,000 cd brightness that is said to illuminate 5 meteres on low beam and 15 meters on high beam. Xiaomi has also fitted the Himo T1 with a full-digital instrument cluster that displays speed, time and battery percentage.
In terms of mechanicals, the Xiaomi Himo T1 is powered by a 14,000 mAh battery with a 350W motor with differing power outputs. The 14Ah producing version offers the Himo T1 a range of 60km while the 28Ah version give it a 120km range. Braking hardware on the Xiaomi electric scooter consists of disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear while suspension is handled by telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear. The Xiaomi Himo T1 tips the scales at just 53kg.
While the electric scooter will be available in China from June 4, there is no word from Xiaomi whether the Himo T1 will make its way to India anytime soon. The Himo T1 is the manufacturer's second product with the first being an electric bike called the Himo C20.
