- 2022 Honda Vario 160 launched in Indonesia
- Gets a host of updates over its predecessor
- Won’t be launched in India
Honda has introduced the new 2022 edition of its sport scooter, the Vario 160, in Indonesia. The latest edition of the scooter has received significant updates over its predecessor, making it even more enticing. Interestingly, the Vario 160 directly competes against the Yamaha Aerox 155 in Indonesia.
Starting with the design, the Vario was already quite edgy aesthetically. With the 2022 edition, Honda took things a notch above by bestowing it with sharper edges and contours. The highlight of its design is the front apron which houses a sleek dual-pod LED headlamp with eyebrow-like thin LED DRLs. Above the headlight are turn indicators and these too are accompanied by LED position lamps. Moreover, the apron sides and the under-seat panels all boast a chiselled and muscular design.
As for the features, the Honda Vario 160 packs a fully-digital console that shows speed, fuel level, distance covered, average fuel consumption, battery voltage, etc. It also gets an 18-litre under-seat storage space, a USB charging port and ABS as standard. Even the 160cc engine of the Vario looks impressive on paper. It churns out 15bhp and 13.4Nm which is quite close to what the Aerox 155 produces. What’s more, the combination of 14-inch wheels and chunky tyres should deliver great handling dynamics.
As of now, the Indian buyers looking for a quintessential maxi sport scooter will have to do with the Yamaha Aerox 155 since the Honda Vario 160 won’t be launched here anytime soon.
