- Gets YZR-M1 inspired livery
- To be available in Japan in January 2023
- Indian launch unlikely
Yamaha has updated its Japanese product portfolio with the launch of the Cygnus Griffus Monster Energy edition. This variant of the 125cc scooter, similar to the rest of the Monster Energy editions, gets the YZR-M1 MotoGP motorcycle-inspired livery. Thus, it features a dual-tone finish that comprises a black base paint along with highlights of blue across the bodywork. Further, this edition also features ‘Monster Energy’ and ‘Eneos’ decals.
Meanwhile, the styling cues retain apron-mounted twin-pod headlight, apron-integrated front turn indicators, step-up seat, split-style pillion grabrail, and side-slung exhaust. It also gets an LCD instrument cluster and a USB charger. The suspension hardware includes telescopic front forks and twin rear springs while the braking setup comprises single discs on both wheels.
The mechanical specifications, too, remain unaltered and the Cygnus Griffus Monster Energy edition uses a 124cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum output of 12bhp. The Yamaha Cygnus Griffus Monster Energy MotoGP Edition will be available in the Japanese market in January 2023.
While this scooter will not arrive on our shores, the company offers Monster Energy editions of the YZF-R15M, MT-15, Aerox 155, and Ray ZR 125 Fi in the Indian market.
