- Yamaha extends free service and warranty period
- Services expiring during lockdown will now be available till 30 June
In the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown, India Yamaha Motor has announced the extension of the free service and warranty period for its customers.
Due to the closure of service centres in several regions and restriction on movement, the customers are not able to avail of warranty-related benefits if it’s expiring during the lockdown. Even the free service falling during this period won’t be feasible to be executed. Hence, Yamaha has extended the last date for these facilities till 30June 2021.
To be precise, the services falling under this extension include free service, standard warranty, extended warranty and annual maintenance contract. The company has notified all of its dealers to extend these benefits to all eligible customers.
Similar to other brands like Hero and Royal Enfield, Yamaha too has temporarily suspended all operations at its plants located in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, to ensure the safety of its employees working in its manufacturing facilities. Meanwhile, all employees at Yamaha’s corporate and area offices shall work from home.
On a different note, Yamaha is prepping to launch the new FZ X neo-retro offering in India in the near future. It has been spied multiple times before, revealing that it will mechanically be based on the existing FZ FI street bike.
