On numerous instances in recent past, the Yamaha Fazer 250 has been spotted undergoing road test. This time around, the motorcycle was spotted minus the traffic clutter and chaotic surroundings, thereby providing a better glimpse of the upcoming vehicle. Likely to be called as the Fazer 25 at the launch, the bike will share the same chassis and design cues as its naked sibling.
Based on what can be seen, the bike gets a semi-faired diamond type frame, split seats and disc brakes for the front as well as rear wheel. The bike also gets LED headlamp with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) unit and LED tail lamps. The production bike will also get an LCD instrument cluster, while the suspension set-up includes telescopic fork for the front. The rear will get a monoshock suspension with adjustable preload.
The upcoming motorcycle will be powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine that generates 21bhp of power and 20Nm of torque. ABS is expected to be offered as optional on the higher variant. The new BS-IV compliant engine will come mated to a five-speed transmission. Post launch, it will compete against the likes of KTM 200 Duke and the upcoming Honda CBR 300R. The bike is likely to be launched in the country after the monsoon.
