- Yamaha Crosser 150 ABS launched in Brazil
- Available in two variants and four colour options
- India launch unlikely
Yamaha has expanded its portfolio in Brazil with the launch of the small-size adventure motorcycle, the Crosser 150 ABS. It is available in two variants (S and Z) and four colour options with prices starting from R$ 15,590 (approximately Rs 2.09 lakh).
Typical of an adventure motorcycle, the Crosser boasts a tall stance with minimalistic body panels. At the front, the S variant gets a shorter beak while the Z trim gets a longer beak and fork gaiters. Both variants get a small headlamp with a fly screen, fuel tank extensions with air scoops, and a side-mounted high-slung exhaust. It’s pretty basic in terms of features with a conventional bulb-type lighting setup and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Staying true to its adventure theme, it gets a 19-17-inch spoke wheel combination that’s shod with dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. For soaking up undulations, there is long-travel suspension at both ends and a single disc at both ends with ABS for shedding speeds. Powering the motorcycle is a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 12.2bhp of power and 12.74Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and runs on petrol as well as ethanol.
As an overall package, the Crosser 150 comes across as an ideal proposition for the Indian market that’s fast moving towards adventure motorcycles. Although Yamaha is unlikely to bring the Crosser in particular, it might bring a different ADV to our shores in the future.
