- Yamaha Nmax 155 updated for the European markets
- Features sportier design and revised ergonomics
- India launch might not happen
Yamaha has updated its 155cc maxi-scooter, the Nmax 155, for the year 2022 in certain European markets. Similar to the Aerox 155 that’s now on sale in India, the Nmax too features an engine derived from the YZF R15 V4 fully-faired motorcycle.
Yamaha has bestowed the Nmax 155 with subtle changes to make it a more enticing package. While it was already a pleasant-looking scooter, the company has retouched its design to add a pinch of spottiness. There’s a new LED headlamp while the ergonomics of the scooter are also tweaked. The handlebar is now placed slightly higher for preventing it from fouling with the knees of taller riders while taking tight turns.
The 2022 Yamaha Nmax 155 also boasts of a longer fuel range (claimed) of 300kms with a larger fuel tank of 7.1-litre. And that’s where the changes over its predecessor end. It continues to be powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that features Yamaha’s variable valve actuation (VVA) setup. Similar to the Aerox 155, the Nmax too produces a power output of around 15bhp.
The Nmax 155 is also attractive in terms of modern technology. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity and pairs with the rider’s smartphone. A lot of information like navigation, trip details, and maintenance service schedules are accessible through Yamaha’s smartphone application. It also gets a 12V charging socket.
Yamaha might not launch the 2022 Nmax 155 in India anytime soon. However, the company has brought the sportier Aerox 155 scooter to our shores which we will be riding soon. Stay tuned.
