- Gets a new paint scheme of blue and yellow
- Powered by a 150cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor
- India launch unlikely
Honda Motorcycles has launched the 2023 CBR150R in Malaysia with a slight cosmetic update. The Japanese offering now comes with a new paint scheme of Pearl Nightfall Blue, which is a combination of blue and yellow. This paint scheme, although a little odd, looks fascinating and enhances the bike’s sporty character.
Apart from the new colour, Honda has made no changes to the design or mechanicals of the CBR150R. It features the same supersport bodywork with large panels and an aggressive demeanour. The split LED headlight, clip-on handles, two-piece seat, and all the other bits have been carried over.
Powering the 2023 Honda CBR150R is a 150cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that churns 16bhp and 13.06Nm torque. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Honda has suspended the setup on USD front forks and a monoshock, while the braking hardware includes a front and rear petal disc with ABS. Then, apart from LED illumination, the CBR150R gets a fully digital instrument console with all the essential readouts.
The CBR continues to rival the Yamaha R15 V4 in the international market as well. For reference, the latter gets a 155cc, liquid-cooled motor with VVA, making 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm. It also comes with a six-speed gearbox and a quickshifter as well.
The 2023 Honda CBR150R in Malaysia is priced at RM 13,299 (approximately Rs. 2.3 lakh, sans taxes). Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has no plans to cater to this segment with the CBR150R any time soon.
