- Tornado 300, 400, 500 showcased at EICMA 2023
- All three are powered by parallel-twin liquid-cooled engines
- India launch unlikely
Along with all the manufacturers, Benelli revealed a handful of motorcycles at the EICMA 2023. Its lineup consisted of the Tornado series in the 300cc, 400cc, and the 500cc model.
The Benelli trio may sport a similar silhouette but the fascia and other designs are quite different. The Tornado 300 gets a pair of vertically stacked LED projectors with appendages integrated into the fascia. Then, the side fairing, rear seat panels and the exhaust too are slightly different on all three. The Tornado 400 also get a similar headlight unit but it comes sans the winglets. Then, its wheel design also differs compared to the remaining lineup. Lastly, it is the Tornado 500. It gets boomerang-like LED DRLs with projector headlights placed at the centre.
Powering the Benelli Tornado 300 is a 300cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 35bhp and 27Nm. On the other hand, the remaining models get 399cc and 500cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engines with output rated at 47.6bhp and 38Nm and 47.8bhp with 46Nm, respectively. The Tornado trio gets LED illumination, USD front forks and a monoshock, 17-inch wheels, dual front and a single rear disc with ABS.
The Tornado 300 will rival the Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3, whereas the Tornado 400 goes against the Ninja 400. Lastly, the Tornado 500 will now rival the recently unveiled Ninja 500. However, Benelli is unlikely to launch any of the aforementioned Tornado(s) in India.
