Yamaha has just introduced the Sniper 155 and 155R in the Philippines. The price of the moped starts at PHP 1,14,900, which converts to Rs 1.74 lakh. While its launch in the Indian market seems to be quite uncertain, here we bring to you the complete details of the Yamaha Sniper 155.
Engine
The Sniper 155 is powered by the same single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-valve SOHC unit that also does duty on the R15. However, here it makes 1.3bhp and 0.3Nm lesser compared to the R15, churning out 17.7bhp at 9,500rpm and 14.4Nm at 8,000rpm. All this power and torque is put down via a six-speed transmission. This engine also gets VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology which ensures linear power delivery throughout the rev range.
Design
The Sniper 155 is a very lean, sharp and stylish looking moped. It gets 155 graphics on its sides, a single-piece seat, a sleek rear grab handle, an exhaust and a muffler designed for better power output and to reduce noise and a 5.4-litre fuel tank capacity.
Features
The sports scooter comes with features like a slipper clutch, smart key system, 12V DC power socket, all LED lights and a full-LCD multi-function instrument cluster.
Hardware
The ride of the Yamaha Sniper 155 is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm suspension at the rear. For braking, it employs a hydraulic single disc brake system on both ends. It gets 17-inch wheels on both ends. Those rims are wrapped in tyres with 90mm width upfront and 120mm width at the rear.
Colours
There are a total of four colours on offer with the Sniper 155. The Race Blue, Black Raven, Yellow Hornet are the three colours available with the Standard variant. Meanwhile, the R variant is available with a Matte Titan colour option.
