- Tracer 9 GT recalled in US
- Issues with throttle grip
- Dealers will fix it free of cost
Yamaha has recalled its touring motorcycle – the Tracer 9 GT over throttle grip defects in US. This recall affects only 2021 manufactured motorcycles.
According to the company, if the throttle grip is used to pull up a motorcycle that has fallen on the side, the grip may break due to excessive force applied to it. This was a result of incorrect grip end design. So if the grip end guide is broken, there could be a restrictive movement during operation and that may lead to a crash.
A total of 453 motorcycles are part of this recall. These bikes have been manufactured between 15th February 2021 and 8th July 2021. The Japanese brand has asked the affected owners not to ride the motorcycle other than to take it to the nearest dealer where the issue will be fixed free of cost.
