- Tracer 9 GT spotted with a radar system
- Will be used for cruise control
- Global debut likely at 2022 EICMA
Yamaha has also decided to join the world of radar systems. The company’s Tracer 9 GT was recently spotted testing the radar cruise control.
According to a report, the spotted test mule had a revised fascia which could have been done to hide the radar unit. The radar unit on the Tracer 9 GT was hidden behind a black plastic panel. Radar waves can pass through smooth surfaces of plastic panels and that’s a lot of brands have decided to use plastic panels.
The radar system on the Tracer 9 GT is expected to give it radar cruise control. This system when activated keeps a safe distance from the vehicle in front. This system also provides an option to set various distance settings. Motorcycles like the Ducati Multistrada V4 have these system settings. This Ducati also has a radar unit at the back for a blind spot detection system.
We can expect Yamaha to unveil the 2023 Tracer 9 GT at the 2022 EICMA later this year. The global launch could happen early next year and sadly the bike won’t come to India.
