- Force X scooter unveiled
- Gets 125cc engine from Fascino
- Launched in China
Yamaha has just unveiled a new scooter that goes by the name Force X. This scooter has been primarily developed for markets like China.
The Force X looks quite cool with the current design language. The scooter overall has large body panels with some curves and creases. There’s a small beak at the front that gives it a distinctive identity. The rest of the parts looks quite conventional.
The Force X gets its power from the same engine that is seen on the Fascino 125 and the Ray ZR. So the 125cc air-cooled engine churns out around 8.9bhp at 6500rpm and peak torque of 9.7Nm at 5000rpm. This motor is mated to a CVT gearbox.
This Yamaha rides on 10-inch wheels at front and rear and are shod with road tyres. It is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking department is taken care of by a disc at the front and drum at the rear. There’s still no information if there’s ABS in the scooter.
The Yamaha Force X retails for around Rs 1.07 lakh in China. Will this scooter come to India? We don’t think so. The Ray ZR offers similar design aspiration, so it doesn’t make sense to have two similar scooters. But there are rumours about a new 125cc scooter in the offering. This maybe the same product that Yamaha is planning to show it to their dealers sometime next month.
