Yamaha unveiled its Free Go 125cc scooter at the 2018 Indonesia Motorcycle Show. The company is aiming at the family scooter buyers in the country with the Free Go. It is available in three versions; standard model, I version which gets smart key and stop-start system and the ABS-equipped A trim.
The Free Go scooter flaunts sleek body lines and looks compact which is the traditional Yamaha style. It comes with a slew of features such as LED headlamp, full-digital instrument cluster, power socket, front fuel filler cap and a 25-litre boot. Both the wheels are 12-inch units and are shod with tubeless tyres.
Powering the Yamaha Free Go is a 125cc, air-cooled, SOHC motor which pumps out 9.3bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 9.5Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. It is suspended on telescopic forks at the front and an underbone suspension at the rear. While the top-end trim gets ABS, the standard and I version incorporate synchronised braking setup for stopping power.
As for it's entry into India, the Free Go is unlikely to be launched here. As per our sources, Yamaha is working on a new scooter specifically for the Indian market.
