- Features a new seat, handlebar and headlight grill
Along with the XSR125, Yamaha has also presented the XSR700 Legacy Edition at the EICMA 2022. Compared to the standard model, the Legacy edition features a set of cosmetic and functional updates, and here’s what those are.
Yamaha has carried over the base model's design for the XSR700 Legacy. So, it dons the same round LED headlight, large fuel tank, single-piece seat, and rear mudguard. However, the Japanese scrambler gets added protection for the headlight, a slightly tweaked seat layout and a new handlebar as well. Moreover, the Legacy Edition also gets a new paint scheme of grey with blacked-out parts and golden alloy wheels.
Like the base model, the XSR 700 Legacy Edition too employs a 698cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder motor. It dishes out 72.3bhp and 47.6 Nm, is mated to a six-speed gearbox and is housed in a diamond-type frame. On the feature front, it gets LED illumination, and an LCD with various readouts like a speedometer, odometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, and more.
For its hardware setup, the Yamaha Scrambler gets gaitered telescopic front forks, linked rear shock, dual 298mm front discs, and a 245mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear block pattern tyres. Unlike the standard model, the Legacy trim weighs 2kg more at 190kg and gets a 20mm higher seat at 855mm.
Team Blue is yet to unveil its availability, launch, and pricing details. That said, the Yamaha Scrambler won’t be launched in India anytime soon. So the only larger scrambler options you are left with are from Ducati and Triumph.
