Yamaha Motor India is planning to introduce Bluetooth connectivity to all its products. Speaking at the launch of the new FZ-X, Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India, confirmed that all products from the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand would receive the Bluetooth connectivity option.
The company currently offer Bluetooth connectivity on products like the FZS-FI, FZS-FI Vintage, and the FZ-X. The Ray ZR series and the Fascino 125 FI, too, have received the upgrades, although Yamaha is yet to announce the launch of the updated models. The updated variants of the scooters were revealed during the FZ-X launch, although the details about their availability are unavailable yet.
The two-wheeler maker currently offers two Bluetooth applications – Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X and the Y-Connect app. The latter packs more features than the former. The list of features available in the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app include answer back, riding history, locate your bike, e-lock, hazard lamp, battery voltage, and parking record.
The Y-Connect app gives details about incoming calls, SMS and email alerts, and the battery level of the connected mobile phone on the instrument console. The Y-Connect app also records details about the fuel consumption, maintenance recommendation, last parked location, malfunction notification, rev dashboard and ranking (for distance travelled and fuel economy).
