- Yamaha E01 e-scooter spotted in Japan
- Retains most of the design from concept
- Unveil soon
Just like most of the other two-wheelers in the market, Yamaha too has been developing a range of new electric two-wheelers. The project E01 is one of the first ones and luckily, a production version has been recently spotted.
The e-scooter that was caught on camera wore camouflaged clothes, but looks full production ready. This makes us believe that the scooter was there for a special preview. First unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, the Yamaha E01 is an electric maxi-scooter that will be sold in Japan and also few European markets.
From the pictures, it is clear that the brand has stuck to the concept styling and hasn’t changed a lot of things. The only major change we can see is that large seat that look more conventional. The fenders, headlight casings and charge port cover have also been changed a bit.
There’s still no concrete information on the motor and the battery pack, but we can expect Yamaha to give out class leading figures for it. The production version of E01 won’t come with swappable battery option like other Yamaha e-scooters. Talking about its global launch, we are expecting that to happen in the next few weeks and yes, the E01 won’t come to India anytime soon.
