The last week was more about upcoming products than new two-wheeler launches. We broke some interesting stories about mainstream brands like Royal Enfield and KTM prepping to roll out some unanticipated offerings. In case you aren’t aware of these updates yet, here’s a quick round-up.
Yamaha India launched two new colours for the FZ-S Fi version 4.0 DLX. These are the Ice Fluo-Vermillion and Cyber Green colourways which were showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The Ice Fluo-Vermillion colourway consists of a white tank, with black and orange stickers and wheels painted in dark orange shade. The Cyber Green colour looks bolder with its fluorescent yellow wheels and military green fuel tank and tail panels.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 bobber leaked
We came across the patent images of the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber. From the previous spy shots and the newly leaked design patent, it's quite evident that the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber will feature many new elements that distinguish it from the current Classic 350 like an ape-hanger handlebar and wheels with white side walls. It will be more aspirational than the current RE 350cc offerings and could be priced around Rs. 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bajaj has finally decided to launch some of the big bikes from KTM in India this year, as confirmed by Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto. The company did sell the 790 Duke for a brief period in 2019 but was later discontinued as the BS6 emission norms kicked in and the company didn’t have an engine that complied with the new norms. But it looks like the brand will take up the big bike segment a bit more seriously now.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 logo leaked
The logo of Royal Enfield’s upcoming 450cc offering, the Guerrilla 450, was leaked as it has been registered with the authorities. This motorcycle was previously speculated to be called the Roadster 450 and also the Hunter 450. It will share its engine and chassis with the Himalayan 450 but the rest of the cycle parts like the wheels and sub-frame will be different. It will compete against the likes of the KTM 390 Duke and the Triumph Speed 400.
Triumph Thruxton 400 launch this year
The Triumph 400cc platform is set to feature a new motorcycle in the form of the Thruxton 400. The launch is most likely to take place during the festive season of 2024 and should follow the one-year launch anniversary of the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X. It is essentially, the Triumph Speed 400 with a beautifully shaped semi-fairing that resembles the one on the Speed Triple RR. The semi-fairing alone adds some much-needed visual mass to the motorcycle, which is sorely lacking in the Speed 400.
