The new Suzuki motorcycles dominated the headlines last week keeping the enthusiasts and buyers hooked on to their screens. In the meantime, there were other bikemakers as well, such as Honda and Bajaj, who grabbed our attention. 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 and Gixxer SF 250 launch
Suzuki hosted a grand launch on 20 May as it introduced its first quarter-litre offering in India, the Gixxer SF 250 along with the 2019 edition of the Gixxer SF 150. Both bikes sport Suzuki’s new design language which screams aggression. However, the motorcycles are sports tourers in essence and offer comfortable ergonomics along with modern features. The 2019 Gixxer SF 155 is priced at Rs 1.09 lakhs while the bigger Gixxer SF 250 costs Rs 1.70 lakhs. Hero Splendor 25th Anniversary Special Edition launch
Hero launched the Splendor Plus 25th Anniversary Special Edition model in India at Rs 55,600. The motorcycle commemorates the 25th anniversary of the launch of the iconic Splendor which was introduced in 1994 in India. To make this model look distinctive, Hero has bestowed the special edition with yellow and orange graphics on black colour. The motorcycle also features black alloys, instead of silver ones of the standard bike, along with a ’25 year Special Edition’ badging on the side panel. Moreover, a handlebar-mounted charger is offered as standard fitment in this model.
Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC officially unveiled
Triumph officially unveiled the Scrambler 1200 XC in India which is the elder sibling of the Street Scrambler. The motorcycle comes equipped with components which make it a more capable off-roader than the latter. Moreover, powering the bike is Triumph’s 1200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor which makes 88bhp and 110Nm while being mated to a six-speed gearbox. Subsequently, the Scrambler 1200 XC is bestowed with premium cycle parts and ample of electronics and, you can read about it here. Triumph will announce the price of its big-daddy Scrambler on 28 May.
Honda Activa 5G and CB Shine limited edition launch soon
Honda will soon launch the limited edition models of the Activa 5G and CB Shine in India. Both the editions were spotted recently and the deliveries are set to commence in the coming days. The limited edition model of the Activa 5G will come in colour schemes of silver/black and pearl white/ gold while the CB Shine will get shades of black/silver and black/red. Besides the new graphics, both the models will remain unchanged. The company has been witnessing dwindling sales for a few months and could be aiming to counter that with these limited edition models.
Bajaj Urbanite scooter spotted testing
Bajaj is preparing to launch electric and petrol-powered scooters this year which will be sold under the Urbanite brand. While we are still a few months away from the debut of these scooters, one of the models was recently spotted testing around Pune. Interestingly, the scooter seems to follow a design inspired by the iconic Chetak featuring an old-school styling. Going by the pictures, the scooter integrates LED headlamp, apron-mounted turn indicators, alloy wheels and a disc brake at the front. Other details about the spied mule are scarce at the moment.
