The last week had something remarkable for us everyday. From Hero’s two new scooters to Benelli’s heavy price reduction, we were hooked on to our keyboards, punching out every update for our readers. On top of that, it was a week that made us look forward to the coming days as a few exciting products are on their way. Having said all that, let’s take a quick look at all the notable two-wheeler updates from the last week.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Pleasure Plus 110 launched
Hero has expanded its scooter portfolio by launching the Maestro Edge 125 and the Pleasure Plus 110. Both the products sit in different segments and are meant to appeal to varied customers. The Maestro Edge 125 has borrowed only the engine from the Destini 125 and is a more modern and youthful offering overall. On the other hand, the Pleasure Plus 110 is a complete makeover of its previous 102cc version. You can read about them in detail here.
BMW F850 GS Adventure launched
BMW introduced a new variant of its middle-weight ADV, the F850 GS Adventure. As the ‘Adventure’ suffix suggests, this version is readier to take on challenging terrains as compared to the standard bike. The wind-deflectors on the windscreen, reworked radiator shrouds and tank panels with a larger 23-litre fuel tank are some of the changes the motorcycle has received. The suspension setup also gets more travel. The BMW F850 GS Adventure has been priced at Rs 15.4 lakhs.
MY20 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R launched
Kawasaki launched the MY20 Ninja ZX-10R in India with a price tag of Rs 13.99 lakhs. This is a drop of Rs 31,000 over the previous model. Besides the addition of red accents on the fairing, the new model has also received a minor bump in its power figures; the 998cc, in-line four engine now produces 200.2bhp and 210bhp with RAM air intake. The motorcycle continues to be sold as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model in India.
Benelli TNT 300 and 302R price reduced
In what came about as a surprising move, Benelli considerably slashed the prices of its 300cc bikes, the TNT 300 and the 302R by Rs 51,000 and Rs 60,000, respectively. Following the price cut, the TNT 300 now costs Rs 2.99 lakhs while its fully-faired sibling retails at Rs 3.10 lakhs. According to the manufacturer, the prices have been dropped owing to the reduction in manufacturing costs of the bikes.
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 teased in video
While we are waiting for Suzuki to take wraps off the Gixxer SF 250 on 20 May, the bikemaker has released a teaser video of the motorcycle. In the video, the quarter-litre sportsbike can be seen flying away on the road along with a tagline ‘Dawn of Greatness.’ What’s more, the video also revealed the throaty exhaust note of the bike which further fueled our anticipation.
Updated TVS Apache RR310 unveiling on 28 May
TVS’ flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR310 is all set to receive its first update since it was launched in 2017. To be unveiled on 28 May, the fully-faired bike is likely to come with a revised engine and tweaked aesthetics. Expect the new Apache RR310 to be launched shortly after the unveiling. It might demand a slight premium over the outgoing motorcycle which is priced at Rs 2.13 lakhs.
