Your weekly dose of bike updates: TVS Raider, Yamaha YZF-R15, Ducati Monster and more!

The last week witnessed the arrival of a new product in the Indian market, the TVS Raider. At the same time, manufacturers like Yamaha and Ducati, too, have confirmed new products for the Indian market. The Japanese two-wheeler maker will introduce the updated YZF-R15 on 21 September, 2021 while the Italian manufacturer will launch the Monster BS6 in our market very soon. Here we bring you a round-up of the top five two-wheeler stories from the last week (12-18 September, 2021).

New TVS Raider 125 launched in India at Rs 77,500

TVS Motor Company has updated its portfolio with the launch of the new 125cc premium commuter motorcycle, the Raider with ex-showroom (Delhi) prices starting from Rs 77,500 onwards. The motorcycle will be available in three variants – Drum, Disc, and Connected. The company is currently offering the Drum and the Disc variants while the Connected version will be available soon. This new model bridges the gap between the 110cc commuters and the Apache series in TVS Motor Company’s portfolio.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Himalayan price hike

Royal Enfield has revised the prices for the Meteor 350 and the Himalayan in the Indian market. With the newest price hike into effect, the Meteor 350 is available from Rs 1,98,537 onwards. The Himalayan series is listed from Rs 2,10,784 onwards. The latest price increase does not bring any cosmetic changes or feature updates to the two motorcycles.

New Yamaha YZF-R15 to be launched in India on September 21

Yamaha Motor India has confirmed that the updated YZF-R15 will be launched in our market on 21 September, 2021. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler maker could introduce two variants of the motorcycle – Standard and M. Both motorcycles would receive cosmetic upgrades in the form of a revised front fascia. The updated models would also benefit from upside-down front forks instead of conventional units on the outgoing version. The M variant could further benefit from Bluetooth-connectivity that would work with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application.

Ducati Monster BS6 India launch soon

Ducati has confirmed via its social media handles that it will soon update its Indian portfolio with the launch of the 2021 Monster BS6. While the company has confirmed the Indian launch of the motorcycle, it has remained tight-lipped about the exact timeline. The updated model, which is already available in several international markets, gets several styling and mechanical revisions over the motorcycle it replaces, the Monster 821. The Euro5-compliant 937cc, Testastretta L-twin motor makes 111bhp of power at 9,250rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

Hero Splendor, Passion, Maestro and others to get expensive soon

Hero MotoCorp has announced that its products would get expensive from 20 September, 2021. This upward revision in the prices has been necessitated to offset the impact of increasing commodity prices. The company confirmed via a press statement that its motorcycles and scooters will get expensive by up to Rs 3,000 over the current ex-showroom tags.
