Zero Motorcycles has launched the FXE electric bike in the international markets. The American electric two-wheeler brand has priced the FXE at USD 11,795, which converts to Rs 8.8 lakh. While its launch in the Indian market seems quite uncertain, let's take a look at the details of the same.
Design
The FXE electric motorcycle gets a supermoto design. The e-bike comes with a sharp beak upfront, circular headlamp, single-piece seat, Zero 7.2 graphics on its sides, no clutch lever and a lean tail section. The electric bike is available in only a grey colour option, which gets a red element on its sides.
Electric Motor
The Zero FXE is propelled by a Z-Force permanent magnet air-cooled electric motor that produces 45.6bhp of power and 106Nm of torque. This motor is powered by a 7.2kWh Z-Force lithium-ion battery that lends it a combined range of 121km when ridden at a speed of 89kmph. This battery pack requires a charging time of 1.8 hours to go from 0-100% when charged via the quick charger. This battery and motor combination lends the electric bike a top speed of 137kmph.
Features
The e-bike comes with features like an LED headlamp, LED taillight, a fully-coloured five-inch TFT instrument cluster, two riding modes (Eco and Sport), Bosch ABS and a connected application that displays riding stats. The electric motorcycle is further offered with a standard warranty of two years and a battery warranty of five years and unlimited kilometres.
Hardware
The suspension duty on the electric motorcycle is taken care of by Showa 41mm inverted forks at the front and Showa mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The electric bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. These wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso ll tyres having 110mm width at the front and 140mm width at the rear.
