Not very much maintenance needed as you know its a adventure bike But one tip is that it will be good if you clean your chain and lubricate once in every 3 months.

  • The best bike for touring and daily commute

    Shailesh

Bike is amazing for daily commute and even better for long rides i use it in bangalore in traffic it is superb also long ride in this beast is the best. The only con i feel is it is little heavy when you want to park it in small places and turning in small roads might be a challenge. I suggest people who are taller than 5.8 ft will be good fit for this bike.

Buying experience is poor as they don't have stock in their showroom so you need to have patience and wait for delivery. It's worth waiting guys, had driven 3700 kms in 3 months and overall riding experience is great. The road presence is awesome others are just staring at your beast.
Also maintenance is pretty cheap in this segment

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 is a capable adventure motorcycle that delivers a unique blend of ruggedness, versatility, and affordability. While it may not have the latest technology or the highest performance figures, it excels in its ability to take riders on unforgettable adventures both on and off the road. Value for money.

    Sukanta Baidya

The Himalayan continues to be very smooth and refined at most point, and it's only near the 7,500-odd rpm redline that you'll feel some vibrations. The motor cruises beautifully at 80 kmph, and 100 kmph which is quite relaxed as well. The bike will surge up to 120 kmph and if you keep it pinned, anything above that is a struggle. The city, the engine won't mind you holding higher gears at low speeds, but the motor feels flat below 2,000rpm – It only accelerates with earnestness when the rev counter crosses that point. Within city limits, there's a fair amount of heat to be felt under the seat area, but it's not too bad.
The chassis is the same as well, and that means you get the same, slightly firm, but very absorptive ride comfort that shakes off even the worst potholes. Cruising stability is good, but triple-digit speeds on bumpy roads can create a mildly skittish feel that you do need to get used to. As before, the brakes are a clear improvement over the bs4 version, but still feel dull, and the front lever needs a strong pull for quick braking. There's dual-channel abs and the rear can be deactivated by long-pressing a small button on the dash, but this button was quite fiddly and sometimes it just wouldn't work. In the city Himalayan handles well, despite its 21-inch front wheel and on-off tyres from ceat. Take it off road, and the Himalayan is a sweet and encouraging bike that you'll find quite easy, thanks to its low seat and gentle engine responses. However, with long travel suspension and 220mm of ground clearance, you'll eventually push it to the point where you wish the bike had more power and weighed less than its current 199kg.

  • Himalayas in himalayan

    Anuj Rai

I bought my first royal enfield, rock red (himalayan) bs-vi in march 2020 from the yerwada showroom(pune). After taking numerous test ride of different models from classic(350), thunderbird-x, and then finally, came to himalayan. After the demo ride, i asked sales representative few questions about the performance of bike and he can make out from my face hat how deeply i was satisfied after the test ride and when i shot my last question about the wait time and he apparently said 20 days then" i was like book it right now". Here comes to my demo ride experience, bike performance is amazing both on-road and off-road, even though in case you are riding it through potholes and uneven roads, mono shocker present below the rider seat works like a charm and the original seat of the bike is soft and comfortable letting you carry long journeys with ease that, a piece of small advice to get a bike cover immediately once you get your delivery. Although the buying experience was not that smooth as i had to chase the sales representative and showroom regarding delivery. They were procrastinating and pushing the bike delivery deadline from what being promised. Anyways after making a few calls to the customer support of royal enfield, i received my bike on 9 march 2020.It's been three months and as you know due to the covid situation and nationwide lockdown, i was not able to take a ride on it very much, but the bike is really promising. In terms of performance when you give the throttle, you could feel the power of it. Himalayan equipped with dual abs you can switch on and off the rear abs via a button, it has a compass to help you with direction, digital meter tells you about how many kilometers you have ridden and using mode button you can see mileage and set time also in case the digital clock is not set, now coming to the gauge meter its comes with reading both in kilometer/hour and miles/hour. On the right-hand side, there is a small meter that shows rpm (rotations/revolutions per minute). In terms of mileage, i'm getting 25 km/l (which is quite less being what is proclaimed), bs-vi version himalayan has very less vibration as it comes with efi (electronic fuel injection) so maintenance cost goes up but less harmful to the environment,The problem i'm facing with himalayan is that battery drain out too quickly if you are not frequently riding it, after every few days i have to call royal enfield roadside assistance which is really good and gives a jump start to my bike.It worth buying and now i can proudly proclaim myself as a proud owner of royal enfield.Note: the reason i opted for glossy color is that it' easy to maintain and doesn't look bad even a layer of dirt is there which is not the case with matt finish. Anyways it's my personal decision and taste.

A wonderful Tourer. Fatigue is something you can forget about in this machine. Not a high revving motor - ride it like that and you will be the happiest. The one and only downside I have noticed is that if you cant handle the weight, then city commutes are going to be a bit on the difficult side. It is a wonderful package.
