To be very frank I never owned this royal enfield himalayan. But when one of my friends who gave me his bike for an emergency my need. When I started to ride I feel so comfortable, the brake system as well as abs. There will be a small windshield which gives much look to this bike. Talking about the torque speed level it was unique from other bikes. You will feel like riding again and again.

After 1 year of ownership - this bike is a pure tourer. Initial torque is it's up. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. 70-90 km/h is the most enjoyable. Lot's of customizable options.
Some cons are, city rides could be a bit miserable - considering it's weight and engine heat. Pillion comfort is not up to the mark.
Built quality is considerably improved now.

Good riding comfort and handling during off road rides... On road rides it ok.. Superior performance. About servicing, i use to do some small maintenances by own. Because one thing i felt that they may charge more for small defects. They will add some unwanted services and consumable charges to the bill. But they will inform us about these things. I think i would tell you that nobody will care our vehicle like we care. So wash it yourself, lubricate it yourself, and small services can be done by yourself like, wheel removing, lamp replacing, spark plug replacing, air filter replacing, chain adjusting.... And so...
For chain adjusting you should watch some videos and do it. Ok.. Safe ride.

Royal enfield is a best motor bikes company which has a large profit in India. The bikes have a quality and finishing. It is made for the new generation and the youth like it very much and they enjoy riding to long places like ladakh and jammu and kashmir for tripping with friends. A best riding spirit with this bike and i like to travel in it. But only one problem is it is quite high price on the show room near my home but, i am satisfied on the ride.

This bike is amazing. I have to waited a month after the booking to get the bike riding experience is very comfortable and regular service cost would be around 2k. The real fun starts in off roading as it's an off roading bike. Only 2 things are lacking tubeless tyre and projector headlight.

  • Nice ride

    Siddharth Kaushik

It is nice bike and whenever you ride or wherever you ride comfort level is awesome. It's braking system is very good even on mountain slippery road. Also sound and look wise Himalayan is always a eye capturing beauty. People love to see this bike with nice height. It's weight is massive as I have to carry that bike to side once as due to pressure on bike tire, it's tire get jammed once and whole bike stand in the middle of traffic. Thank god that people are there to help me out because in such case you can't tow the bike to one side by yourself.

This bike is amazing. I have to waited a month after the booking to get the bike riding experience is very comfortable and regular service cost would be around 2k. The real fun starts in off roading as it's an off roading bike. Only 2 things are lacking tubeless tyre and projector headlight.

Great performance vehicle - be it for regular city commute or for long rides. Excellent stability on highways that comes with reasonably good .heavy for off-roading though. Great price point. service center inefficiency could be a pain in the neck, but it's a great motorcycle to own overall.

    Sahil

    Style

it would be great if the handle bar a bit taller to suit tall peaople.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

engine is good, good pick up but gearbox is too hard.

    Ride quality & handling

    ride quality is fair.

    Final words

could have done much better. Need to re-think on design part.

    Areas of improvement

needs to increase height of handlebar, gear shifting needs to be smoother.

    Pros

    comfortable seat

    cons

ride posture not good(5' 10'' hieght), gear shifting is too hard, windshield is of no use

  • Himalayan - The tourer

    Tharun

After 1 year of ownership - this bike is a pure tourer. Initial torque is it's up. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. 70-90 km/h is the most enjoyable. Lot's of customizable options.
Some cons are, city rides could be a bit miserable - considering it's weight and engine heat. Pillion comfort is not up to the mark.
Built quality is considerably improved now.

Nice bike from royal enfield got nice experience smooth shock absorbers with its height and the navigation compass too and this bike is mainly made for off-road and it's best bike for tracking off road lovers!..... Service should be done as per date as my suggestion is work mainly on its shock-absorbers.

  • best off roader

    Jaison
