Getting Himalayan was my 3 years dream come true plan. When I ride first time, I knew that this bike build for me.
I will one of the best and cozy riding experience I had on Himalayan. There is always thrill but be in the rules while driving.
One of the best looking bike. Bike aesthetics are so much old school style but having rich modern touch by royal enfield long legacy.
Get one thing that Himalayan need's to be maintained. So keep your pockets full. Service cost more sometimes but I will say worth a penny every time.
Best aesthetic, riding experience with unique posture design, right performance machine in the right package. Himalayan beats in the cost with all the competitive bikes available in the market
At last, always happy to be part of royal enfield rider community which always enhanced riding experience by exploring unknown places.

it took 2 weeks after booking , i got the bike delivered . little hard machine it seems. but riding time it will so smooth.. around 44 degree temperature you will get ambient temperature around leg area and thigh. as clutch and brake little hard , you may feel little hand pain during daily commuting.
service : i am giving 0 rating for royal Enfield. they are posting mad people in service centre. they don't even know how to change parts in good manner.. really pathetic service by royal Enfield.. i done 1st service from HALLMARK royal Enfield. I am not suggesting that waste team.. later 1st service i have given local service and they only done good service.

  • Himalayan - no proper road required

    Aayush Jain

The buying experience was the worst. I had ordered the bike in jan'17 and end up getting the bike in nov'17. Probably that is because of the bs4 update. Anyways the bike overall is good but lot of maintenance is required. Can go off road easily due to the high clearance level. Have reached 130km/h with some efforts but there's no vibration felt. Smooth ride though the mileage is a put off. It give a mileage of about 25kmpl. Looks are ok not that great but its a heavy bike. Servicing is again the worst part. The people at re service centers are not honest. If in case you do decide to buy this bike make sure you are there when they are servicing your bike or they will just do some rough work and pass on the huge bill to you.Heats up pretty fast so not a good idea to roam around in it at high temperatures.Engine could have been better, lacks abs probably the newer version has it. Riding posture is amazing. I do a daily commute of about 110 km everyday ( both ways ) but never experienced any kind of strain on my back even in long rides ( 500km & above).Overall its an okay bike not something must have. However some duplicate parts are available so can't get it serviced any where but only in specific places.I am overall satisfied ( not pleasantly though) with the bike although be ready to shell out about 2500rs every two months on servicing. All in all there are better options available. And more thing..A test drive for about 50 km is a must before you go for this bike.

I was very exited for my himalayan, it continued for few days, but issues, problems entered on my way one by one. I think re showing their strategy on himalayan model, when ever i get issue, service people say that 99% nobody faces these issues, its the best one you got. Yeah i agree in terms of riding comfort, off road. But when it comes to quality, very poor. I got first problem with the front disk, which do not come under warranty, payed 3000 bucks. And also i want mention that service differs from place to place, which is one more issue i am facing, bike gets heated up so fast, rusting, colour of silencer has drastically changed. Again few days after i got one more issue with noise coming out from the front disk, which i cant bear, now they need one full day to clear it, this is the experience with in 3 months after buying. I seriously don't want to face these issues.

    Naveen

Guys If you want 45Kmpl with average in highways ride Between 60kmph - 80kmph with 1/4th of throttle in Highway , In City I am getting a mileage of 35KMPL With peak traffic with applying 1/4 throttle in Bangalore . Really I am very much happy with riding long rides as well as in city , I am 6.1ft height and 90kgs . Crisp Throttle response , exhaust sound is just awesome . Don't go above 80kmph till your bike runs 2000kms . If you are ok with the heavy weight and hardcore real offroader with allrounder WITH Linear Power go for himalayan save your money aganist ADV 390 DUKE Rs1.50L or if you are only tourer go for ADV 390 DUKE with Extreme power and its not pure offroader.
overall pros only in my point of View and no cons. If you need my experience do as I reviewed and experience real thrill with the bike .

I really felt very much happy i dint feel any kind of uncomfortable while riding so long. Details ,look & performance.By look this is osm. I actually admired by this looks and bought this bike. Performance is always royal enfield gives best. It's not an race bike to race. For trips this bike performance is good.Service & maintenance. Don't ever give our bike to free service they don't do anything they just damage give it back.

  • If you know what adv bikes are buy the himalayan!

    Rohan

if you know what adv bikes are, you love riding long distances over expected and unexpected terrains, then wait for the abs version to be released, and buy it. However, if you're looking for a royal enfield thumper, something loud enough to scare the carbon out of the dominar, then don't buy it.Long story:I unfortunately own the bs3 (bharat stage 3) version of the bike. All i can say about my experience of the bike in the most polite way i can, is that, the bs3 version feels like a crowd sourced r&d, “beta testing” a product by paying full price for it, listening to the feedback (complaints), getting faulty parts replaced regularly for them to analyse, and finally, releasing the actual version, now with a bs4 badge, which seems to have most of, but not all, problems ironed out. That being said, i would, however, still recommend this bike, because it is genuinely an adventure tourer (adv bike) at its core. The main characteristics of an adv bike are:-a bigger 21 inch front wheel-footpegs and handlebars in an upright position to ride standing up-large fuel tank, or additional fuel mountain points-long travel suspension, front and rear-spoked wheels that can take a beating off-road-under engine skid plate / bashplate-knobby tires (yes we can change those in the aftermarket, but still)-low end torque for navigating tricky trails-longer wheelbase for highway stability The himalayan checks all those points. And for a price point of inr 180,000, its fantastic. Similar engine capacity bikes such as the bmw 310 gs, kawasaki versys 300, and the rumoured ktm 390 adventure are all modified "adv versions" of road bikes. Most of them don't come with spoked wheels as standard, and non have the 21inch front wheel, one of the most important character of an adv bike. These bikes are more of a compromise. Now, going back to himalayan, and specifically royal enfield motorcycles. If you are looking for a motorcycle to do daily city commutes on, the himalayan is okay, but not great. Getting stuck in traffic with this long wheelbase big beast of burden can be tiresome, especially people who are used to zipping in between cars and busses. Plus the air-cooled engine doesn't like start stop traffic very much/If you are looking for an affordable bike for long distance travel, especially in india, i honestly couldn't recommend the himalayan more. The upright seating position is friendly on your body. And if you ever encounter a large pothole or an unpaved road in your journey, you honestly don't need to slow down on this bike. The large wheels, and long travel suspension takes care of it. Most importantly, unlike the traditional royal enfield engines with pushrod engines that vibrate your teeth out, the himalayan's ls410 engine is an sohc with a counter-balancer. Meaning, cruising on straight highways, the mountainous twisties, rough backroads, and offload trails, the himalayan is a pleasure. As i mentioned earlier, its comfortable for the city too, just not ideal for our rush hour traffic in hot summers. As a true adv enthusiast, if you're looking to thrash your bike on offroad trails, you would be comfortable doing that on the himalayan too, as it really teaches you the right technique for handling a large bike with the correct adv posture and proportions. And when you do fall, and trust me, you will fall when going offroad, the replacement cost for parts won't break you further. The engine is relatively underpowered, so you won't get into too much trouble anyway :) .My suggestion would be to wait until the abs version is released (or buy the abs version if its already released at the time of reading this). Trying to stop the himalayan in an emergency is a great skill to have, however, you shouldn't end up getting seriously hurt either. I think abs should be mandatory. Let's hope that its dual channel, and is switchable for skidding the rear wheel through tight corners in the dirt. Finally i should add that i bought the himalayan as a adv bike and not as a royal enfield. I am personally not a fan of royal enfield. I love classic bikes too, but i also like technology and engineering. Royal enfield could have produced modern and more efficient engines, safer and better built bikes, yet sticking to their classic look, perhaps similar to triumph bonneville range of bikes. If you are considering a royal enfield for the thump and were taking the himalayan into the consideration too, then i'm sorry, the himalayan won't work for you. Always remember to gear up, especially going offroad.

    Satya Kiran

Have seen a lots of reviews saying this is the best bike for touring. Bought this Royal Enfield Himalayan bs-6 with lot of expectations but engines switches of automatically, poor and in experienced service centers. It takes months for spare parts. Not satisfied with the bike. After driving different bikes for 17 years this is the first time I felt really bad with the bike and service centers.

  • Himalayan, my horse baby

    Remy Fernandes

Well, let me begin with how I ended up buying the bike which I had never thought of. I had dream of owning a 'Thunderbird'. Took a test ride and was disappointed due to its vibration. I am not a vibration friendly guy. After a ride of Thinderbird was totally broken then the service guy said, 'sir if you don't like vibration then why don't you try the Himalayan. Till this moment what picture I had in my mind of Himalayan was that it is an off road bike no doubt look wise it's a bike which can't be compared with any other within it's segment but as an off-road bike I hadn't given a thought to it. He said 'nothing like that you can ride it anywhere, try it out and see'.
The moment I took it in my hand and began riding I couldn't return it back. I was super excited and was waiting desperately for mine to come and this excitement is there in me till today. She is not just a bike but my love, my girlfriend! She makes me feel proud whenever I am riding it as people start starring at her the way guys stare at pretty and hot women. Many even asked me at the signals, 'bhai, yeh kaunsa bike hai, aur iska price kya hai? Jabardast bike hai bhai! '
It looks so big and heavy but once on it, it's so comfortable to ride, on the curves and overtaking, the ultimate beauty packed with power! It's so well balanced that you can ride it standing also. I have ridden it to Goa from Mumbai in one day with my wife without any back or leg pain! It's just a perfect masterpiece from RE! I have touched 135kmph with my wife and two heavy bags on Bengaon-Puna express highway.
little feedback on windshield and the side stand. the windshield is blocking the near view. It can be shortened a bit. Side stand keeps bike almost straight which is risky that it can fall the other side.

  • A good bike from worst Company Royal Enfield

    Vaisakh Sreyas

it took 2 weeks after booking , i got the bike delivered . little hard machine it seems. but riding time it will so smooth.. around 44 degree temperature you will get ambient temperature around leg area and thigh. as clutch and brake little hard , you may feel little hand pain during daily commuting.
service : i am giving 0 rating for royal Enfield. they are posting mad people in service centre. they don't even know how to change parts in good manner.. really pathetic service by royal Enfield.. i done 1st service from HALLMARK royal Enfield. I am not suggesting that waste team.. later 1st service i have given local service and they only done good service.

try to find a local Enfield expert . otherwise royal Enfield team will spoil your bike . do free service on authorized showroom.. but check they perfectly done or not from near by local workshops. its good for bike health. after 4 free service, don't give to royal Enfield authorize team.. upto 500 km keep going with 3000 rpm and 60kmph after 500 km -1000km around 4000 rpm and you take 80 kmph if you need.

  • Awesome Tourer Himalayan Bike BS6 Bike With An average of 45Kmpl

  • Awesome Tourer Himalayan Bike BS6 Bike With An average of 45Kmpl
