    Prabhakaran Nagarajan

This is very crazy moment of booking the bike. I remember java was launched at the same time and initially I booked java and later review received as rust formation in metals cancelled the booking and right away went to re showroom and booked the royal enfield Himalayan (bsiv) without test ride. Wow! what a bike :)Almost waited for couple of days for loan approvals and rto process then received the bike. Seriously, I was shocked with the performance of the bike and throttle sound of exhaust. I have purchased grey and white sticker strips on the tank and tail part. It is definitely a naked version of adventuring bike. Looks wise awesome and very comfortable for touring and off road. May of us have a thought it wont be fit for long touring but believe me it is only one bike which gives more comfortable in 400cc bikes (I bet on it). As I mentioned it is 411cc, single cylinder and 15+ liters of tank capacity. Depends on your riding style it will lead too 300+ km's in one full tank. If I talk about servicing and maintenance it is reasonable and affordable price for any repairing. Accessories are frequently available for Himalayan in service centers. I am not sure about others for my Himalayan bike and based on my riding style every time of service would cost me around 1.8-2k depends on consumables needed but compare to other company re is bit affordable price and accessible for everyone. Lets come to my favorite and important topic (pros & cons).
Pros:1. Short rider can easily ride the bike 2. Good mileage and service cost 3. Long travel touring without any tiredness 4. Easily mount the luggage with bungees 5. Suspension good and take huge pot holes without any stress 6. Low end torque performs well in hills station. 7. Good in corning with confident.
Cons:1. In bumper to bumper traffic, your legs will be boiled for sure. 2. City commuter is bit uncomfortable.3. Fuel gauge is gets defective very soon ( I have changed almost four types 4. Cone set issue appears every 7k-8k km's (needs a mandatory replacement).5. Tube types for sure Definitely need little improvements from re like (cross spoke wheels to avoid punchers, instrument cluster change). 98% of vehicle is good and just 2% drawbacks but does not mean it is bad one. In 2021 they have added good features in the bike. For rider safety please wear always helmet, mandatory gears and ride responsible.

No doubt it a bike with a beast engine in it.It should be made slight broad from front to balance the center of gravity while riding at high speed.Though the toughness of the bike is seen by the one who rides it,but first to attract people towards bike it's visual appearance should be improved the suspension can be improved as the body will become slight broader gap for suspension will be developed within the bike.

  • Awesome bike

    Vipul

Very awesome bike.Got my delivery in december, and writing this review after a little over 2000kms. My daily commute is less than 8kms round-trip, so almost the entire 2000kms have been on weekend rides. 1. Th is bike loves the highways, and seemed comfortable cruising between 90-100kmph for extended periods.2. Travelling solo, with luggage is fine, but ground clearance becomes a major issue with pillion. Have to be extra careful while banking hard or crossing the odd speed bump.3. Average mileage over 2k kms is 38.4kmpl. Pure steady highway rides have got me 39+ kmpl, and pure in-city traffic heavy commutes have got me 34.7kmpl.4. 2nd 3rd gears feel too short and frequent gear changes in city traffic can be a bother.

Dreamt of buying it as a young college, finally got hands-on with it & fell in love with the machine, best riding and sitting position for my height, the service experience was okish at RE, had a better experience at local garages. Worst service experience. Service center mechanics are hardly aware of the issues and half the time fail to acknowledge the issues. Most of the time parts are not available. Every day some new case comes to the fore. very high maintenance. Low quality parts and build. The service center hardly cares for any bike.

Re showroom guys don't treat you well when you are at their showroom. You are not detailed about the bike and in fact you would know the specs much better than what the service or sales person knows. When i first rode the Himalayan, i felt that this is the bike i have been waiting for and the connect that you get when you ride it is just awesome but when i started to own one, i started facing issues right from the rusty parts, oil leakage, gear shift being hard. It gave me a horrific experience and over a period of one year, i have visited the service centre more than 15 times to get these issues fixed. There were breakdowns and i had to get my vehicle towed to the nearest service centres to fix it. The bike is good for long rides but you need to keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't stop over.

Wow! what a bike :)Almost waited for couple of days for loan approvals and rto process then received the bike.

    1) bike deliver early, happy with the service and also buying rates.2) excellent riding experience on road as well as off road, raider and pillion comfort is excellent best to use for long rides then any other bikes.3) bike was launched in 2016, still it is head turner,it has 25bhp but i feel so it has to be more power in the bike.4) excellent service provided by re servicing centre to me best customer satisfaction talking about maintenance it is cheaper that classic model .5) pros : this is only one bike in this price point in adventure tourer segment handling and comfort is awesome, average is good Cons. after 100kmph bike gets vibrate , it has to improve in built quality in bs3 model there is a issue of engine heating problem, hard clutch, in rainy weather gets rusty faster, lacks bit in braking. this review is of bs3 model.
